Midpoint Case Study(in progress)
What is Midpoint?
A platform designed to streamline project management for general contractors and agencies in the construction industry. With a focus on tracking Compliance
Overview
MidPoint is a platform that helps general contractors and agencies streamline project management and communication. The project involved user research, wireframing, prototyping, and testing to create an intuitive, role-based dashboard. As the UX/UI Design Intern, I focused on research, defining scope, wireframing and designing workflows to simplify complex processes. The goal was to build a user-friendly platform that makes tracking compliance effortless.

The Problem?
Compliance is Complex & Tracking it is Even Harder
Construction projects involve a mountain of regulations, permits, safety standards, worker certifications, and contract requirements. Many GCs and agencies struggle to track compliance effectively, often relying on manual spreadsheets, mountains of emails, or outdated software. This results in:
-
Missed deadlines for permits and safety reports.
-
Lack of visibility into compliance status across multiple projects.
-
Disjointed communication between agencies, contractors, and subcontractors.
-
Increased risk of legal issues or project shutdowns.
First Steps
Defining scope
After research, we narrowed down the core features that would provide the most impact:
-
Compliance Dashboard – A high-level view of all compliance-related tasks, deadlines, and issues.
-
Automated Compliance Tracking – The system automatically flags missing, expired, or pending approvals.
-
Role-Specific Views – GCs see project-wide compliance status, while agencies can drill into individual tasks.
-
Document Management – Easy uploads, approvals, and version tracking for permits, safety reports, and contracts.
-
Smart Alerts & Reminders – Automated notifications for expiring permits, overdue reports, and pending approvals.

WireFraming!
With the scope defined, I started sketching wireframes to explore how compliance tracking could be seamlessly integrated into the project management experience.
